Odile van Aanholt and Bart Lambriex had a dream to bring home the Youth America’s Cup. Jorden van Rooijen and Emma Savelon are as eager and joined them. The Team will soon be completed with two more talented sailors. Guiding this young team is Floris van de Werken. His focus for the team is to create an open learning environment, in which all sailors can develop on an individual and team level.
With all their experience and talent the dream of winning the Cup for The Netherlands seems more than feasible.
The Youth America’s Cup will be sailed on the AC9F by two girls and two boys. Our team will consist of an additional girl and boy resulting in a lot of flexibility. This will allow us to continue training even in case a sailor gets injured or needs time off for necessary rest. The Team will train and race jointly all the way to the finals in Auckland.
Never in the entire history of the (Youth) America’s Cup a team from The Netherlands has participated. Although the Kingdom Team thrives to win the Cup even participating will be writing history.
The Kingdom Team will represent the Royal “Koninklijke Watersport Vereeniging Loosdrecht” that will be the official Challenger.
