Jorden’s love for the ocean began on the Dutch Caribbean island Curacao. At the local sailing club (YSCO) he started sailing at the age of 6 in Opti’s.
After sailing the Laser for a couple of years he decided to switch towards big boat racing. This is where he set a goal to become a professional sailor and ultimately compete in the Volvo Ocean Race and the America’s Cup.
Driven by performance and innovation he started studying Naval Architecture. During his studies, his goal was to keep competing in sailing as much as possible and keep developing his sailing career. The past year he has been super active as a Bowman in both Offshore campaigns as Match racing events.
Jorden is very excited for the upcoming challenge, the Youth America’s Cup is a great stepping stone into professional sailing
