Bart Lambriex

Bart was born in Haarlem just west of Amsterdam. His father Huub and mother Ester are sailing Olympians.

Bart started racing in the Optimist at the age of 7 at his local sailing club the “Haarlemse Jachtclub”. This meant he had to deal with the shifty winds of the “Mooie Nel”, a very small lake only 400 by 600 meters in size.

He went to three World Championships in the Optimist class finishing 15th, 2nd, and 4th. In the 420 class, he won a Silver Medal at the Europeans and in the 49erFX he became Junior World Champion. Bart is now sailing in the Olympic 49er class, where he has finished 8th and 11th in the last two World Championships and has qualified The Netherlands for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
